Write a 3-5 page paper on Friedrich Nietzsche’s concepts of active vs. passive nihilism and comparing it to the existential philosophy of Jean Paul Sartre, specifically elaborating on the “existence precedes essence” aspect. Then explain why you either agree or disagree with Nietzcshe and Sartre in their existential philosophies and whether or not they may be suitable as a sort of framework to live by.

Tip: Your summaries of each philosophies should be brief but concise (because of the page limit). It would help your argument greatly if you gave specific real life scenarios of what you’re trying to explain, in this case what, for instance, passive nihilism may look like or what the opposite of “existence precedes essence” looks like in real life. And then the third-last page would be you explaining why you agree with one or both philosophers and how their philosophy may be livable.
