Each day for four consecutive days, write an entry in your food diary detailing your food habits.

We decide what to eat, when to eat, and even whether to eat for a variety of reasons. For this week’s assignment student will explore their own eating habits by keeping a detailed food diary over the period of 4 days. This assignment has five parts. You may find it helpful to track your food electronically via an app such as MyFitnessPal as this will make Part 4 of the assignment go smoothly as it provides you with a macronutrient profile and information on added sugars and saturated fats. Complete the following four parts and record your food on the food diary. Submit your completed food diary and a .doc file addressing Parts 2-4 to the dropbox. Remember to do each part 1 through 4 – daily for the period of 4 of days.
Lastly, you are tasked with creating a summary video of your nutritional intake (Part 5). Record your voice as the audio component explaining your week’s summary, concepts of a balanced diet and submit your food diaries. The guidelines for this assignment are below.
Part 1: Daily Food Diary Entries
Each day for four consecutive days, write an entry in your food diary detailing your food habits. Use the following chart to record your meals. If your meal times are different from those listed on the chart, make changes to help fit your days.
Part 2: Daily Reflection
At the end of each day, analyze your chart and write a few sentences to reflect on what you ate. Was this a typical day for you? Who made most of your food choices that day? Did any other factors affect what you were eating?
Part 3: Daily Analysis
Respond to the following questions:

Which, if any, of your food choices were influenced by emotions? How many times did you eat because you were truly hungry?
How was social/family pressure a factor in your food decisions?
Which, if any, of your food choices were influenced by marketing strategies or food advertisements?
What was the biggest influence on what you ate?
How often did you think of health and nutrition when making food choices? What were some of your healthiest choices? What were some of the least healthy?
How do you think your food buying and consumption patterns help define who you are? For example, if Mary found she ate granola with organic milk and fruit most mornings. What does this say about her environmental attitudes, her food budget, her family history or her sense of independence (i.e., eating differently than her parents)?

Part 4: Dietary Analysis
Using your food diary, calculate the total number of calories consumed each day. Within total calories, calculate what percentages of each macronutrient were consumed (carbohydrates, fats, proteins). Within the category of carbohydrates, what percent were sugars? Within the
