In honor of Women’s History Month, this DB has 3 parts.

Parts 1, 2, and 3 together should total 2 1/2 – 3 pages. Part 1—Women’s Accomplishments Identify a woman that is not a well known historical figure and discuss her accomplishment/contribution. (About 2 paragraphs.) Part 2 —Attraction and Dating Research A. Research dating (or some aspect of it) in another culture of your choice. Briefly compare and contrast dating in that culture with that in the mainstream culture in the U.S., including electronic dating and dating services. Compare and contrast the power of women in the culture that you choose with their power in the mainstream U.S. culture. B. Research how the legal system (of the culture that you have chosen) compares with the legal system of the U.S. in respect to unwanted sexual behavior, including verbal abuse, assault and rape. Provide at least one reference. (Refer to Writing Sociology for the correct ASA format.)

Part 3— Video and Resources A. View the video on date rape found in the Course Modules. (Chapter 7) Do you know anyone who has been date raped? If so, how did they react afterwards? Why do you think many date rape victims will not go to the police or the hospital?
