BUS 400 Module Two Assignment Guidelines and Rubric
Overview
Leaders need input, especially from stakeholders, to move ideas along. Having a unique, insightful product or service is just one step. Project outlines that include careful consideration of a company’s mission, opportunities, and risks can help ideas gain momentum and snowball in significance.
Scenario
Now that you have written a blog post identifying critical elements needed to support the rationale of your project, outlining specifics is key! These specifics will be used in an upcoming elevator pitch you will submit to senior management in Milestone One. Before management will approve exploring the idea for new opportunities and funding, they have key performance indicators (KPIs) you will need to address. Your goal for this assignment is to provide an outline that strongly, yet carefully, presents an argument to move your concept forward.
Prompt
Using MarketLine, Yahoo Finance, and the company’s investor relations webpage, continue your investigation of the company you selected in your Module One blog post. Specifically, look at the company’s profile, financials, and SWOT analysis.
Using speculative strategies, articulate your thoughts. Remember, success may mean revenue to a for-profit business; however, to a non-profit, it may mean a specific outcome, such as donor retention rate, social media engagement, or email open rate.
Draft a project outline that presents a prospective timeline and targeted customer segment of your project. This project outline is a precursor to Milestone One: Elevator Pitch. The KPIs you need to consider and address in your outline are:
The intended customer: Describe the intended customer or customer profile for the new product or service.
Opportunities in the market: Explain the opportunities in the market based on your research.
The financial opportunity: Assess the financial opportunity that the project presents for increasing cash flow and topline revenue.
Can it be cash flow positive and profitable? For example, Zappos donates a pair of shoes for every pair of shoes sold. This leads to profit in the long run due to good CSR and company image, but is not immediately profitable.
Your contribution will be evaluated based on the quality of the input.

Apple Inc.’s Bold New Direction
As the Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) of Apple Inc., I am tremendously honored to
supervise our initiatives to channel creativity and technology to solidify our market standing in
the face of stiff competition. Apple has been for a long time a symbol of innovation, as it
modifies consumer electronics with each new product (Razak et al., 2020). As we continue to
advance, our appointed target is not only to enhance the current products but also to create new
products that are ahead of the curve and that are able to define future market directions.
Value Proposition
Apple’s main business operation revolves around the development and manufacturing of
consumer gadgets and software products that provide convenience and advantages to people’s
lives. Our products are known for their elegance, convenience to use, and our ever-growing
ecosystem. The value we deliver is through the integration of hardware, software, and services,
which results in a user experience that defines the standards of the industry.
Profitability
Apple has proven to be a major player in profitability due to highly robust product sales
and a legion of die-hard customer base. This financial success is not only a result of the
company’s innovative hardware but also the diversification in the revenue streams, especially
from the serviced sector. According to Razak et al. (2020), collectively, these components ensure
a consistent flow of revenue and guarantee financial viability, positioning Apple distinctly in the
competitive field of the tech industry.

SWOT Analysis Strengths
Apple enjoys a competitive advantage that is supported by key strengths, which are its
globally known brand, dedicated customer following, continual innovation that leads the market,
and good financial reserves (Tian et al., 2022). These strengths work quite well for Apple in that
the company positions itself towards developing and introducing cutting-edge products to the
market while maintaining high-quality products and innovative consumer solutions.
Introducing Apple Health+
Product or Service Singularity
Apple Health+ is an innovative service that serves as an individual health assistant
directly from Apple devices. This service takes advantage of advanced algorithms to analyze
health data from several sources, such as the Apple watch, to offer tailored health

recommendations that monitor wellness and even predict possible health complications before
they become critical.
New Product or Service Projections
The introduction of Apple Health+ could be a huge opportunity for Apple to boost its
profitability by targeting the ever-expanding health and wellness industry. It addresses one of the
main desires of consumers, proactive health maintenance, thereby reinforcing our value
proposition, which in turn facilitates deeper incorporation of Apple products into everyday life.
Apple Health+ will utilize the company’s skills in both hardware and software integration,
allowing it to be seen as a distinct offering that competitors would not easily duplicate, given the
app’s deep integration with Apple’s ecosystem and proprietary technologies.
Conclusion
Innovation is by far the most crucial to our identity at Apple. Apple Health+ is not only
adapting to the market but leading the way. Our goal is to be the kind of company that is
responsible for creating a healthy future for our clients. This project is an example of our
dedication to improving the user experience and humanizing it through technology.
