Assignment Tasks:
Task 1: A list of 50 researchable topics/cases studies have been provided in MEC Learn (Moodle) from
which you are required to choose only one topic/case study and write a CRITICAL ANALYSIS REPORT by
focusing more on the following aspects:
a. Identify and analyze the opportunities for foreign investors and Multinational Enterprises
(MNEs) to invest in Oman, GCC region and global markets.
b. Critically analyze the factors i.e., financial securities, currency risk management, capital
budgeting, capital structure, investment & dividend policies etc., which may affect the
performance of such international businesses.
c. State the policy implications of your findings, recommendations and conclusion.

Outline of the Report:
A. Title– with title topic, case study/company/organization name
B. Introduction – A brief introduction and background of the study that will lead to the report theme
and objectives. Important definitions and terms relevant to the body of knowledge can be defined
and explained. The essay statement or the problem statement will have to be presented here with
scope of the study.
C. Body/Relevant Literature – Linked to the problem statement, this section will present the details
of the reviewed material (literature review) and recent studies are to be explored related to
selected topic/case objectives including various aspects of the report with the writer’s opinion.
Strong and logical evidence with correct citations and references are expected.
D. Theories and Methodology: The writer’s viewpoint must be supported by theoretical framework,
underpinning theories, hypothesis (if any) and relevant methodologies used in selected case
study/journal article can be discussed in the section.
E. Data & Analytical Viewpoints: Besides theories and methodology, relevant secondary data from
published sources, critical analysis, and analytical points of view of the writer are key areas of
report. Facts and data presented need to be analyzed here. The writer can present his proposed
solution to the identified problem statement and report findings in this section.
F. Conclusion & Recommendation – This section will summarize the main points of the discussion.
The essay statement will be re-instated with strong and convincing concluding remarks and policy
making suggestions/recommendations to be written here.
G. State the policy implications of your findings, recommendations and conclusion.
H. Reference – The APA 7th referencing style must be observed.
