Scenario
You work for Trexpedition, an online travel and hospitality booking service that provides booking for travel around the world. As an organization that provides online booking to thousands of customers travelling to and from countries internationally, Trexpedition needs to remain current on technological advancements to compete with other companies offering similar services. In today’s fast-moving world, technology is constantly shaping and reshaping the ways people work in various professional fields. The company’s founders, Wanda and Wendy Wayfair, realize the importance of staying ahead of technological trends, and they pride themselves on the company’s tech-savvy reputation.

Wanda and Wendy have put you and a small group of your coworkers in charge of Trexpedition’s new Tech Trends Think Tank group, a cross-functional team with representatives from various departments in the company. The team’s charge is to research new emerging technologies that are shaping the way business is done in various professional fields. The team has been asked to report back on its findings in monthly presentations with leadership.
Directions
During the first meeting of the Tech Trends Think Tank, the team brainstormed various trends and tools in technology that might be worth discussing at the first monthly presentation to leadership. After spending an hour considering different technologies, the group decided that there are simply too many options to choose from, and that each member should come back to the next meeting with a proposal for a technology that they think the team should research further. You will select and research a technology to submit to the group.

Create a 600- to 800-word proposal to submit to the rest of the Tech Trends Think Tank about a technology that has impacted an area of your professional interest. You could choose from any number of technologies, but make sure that you can make a valid argument for how your selected technology has impacted a professional field. If you need help coming up with a technology trend or tool to select, review the Tech Trends Brainstorm document in the Supporting Materials section. Trexpedition’s leadership team is interested in learning about a vast array of technologies being used in various industries, so your choice of technology is not limited to technologies related to online travel and hospitality booking. You should select a technology that is of interest to your own career goals and professional interests.
Once you have selected a technology of professional interest to you, research that technology to inform your proposal to the team. In your proposal, be sure to:

Define the professional field of interest to you.
Define your chosen technology that you have researched. What is it? What does it do? Who can use it? What do people use it for? What older technologies has it replaced or improved on?
Describe how your selected technology impacts daily work for people in your chosen professional field.
Describe the potential risks and benefits of implementing this technology in the professional field.
Justify the implementation of your selected technology by explaining the specific uses and benefits of your selected technology in in the workplace.

To ensure that your proposal is balanced with research, be sure to provide a minimum of three credible, authoritative sources of outside information, cited appropriately.
