STUDENT #1 Tika Gray

My week 1 research problem is those in the criminal justice field who call out of work doing certain times, paydays/during the weekends, and in conjunction with days off. The biggest issue is supervisors who speak out loud to those they supervise when someone calls off work. No one but supervisors should know the call-out behavior of other law enforcement/public safety officers. The ACJS Code of Ethics speaks about CONFIDENTIALITY. Unfortunately, confidentiality lacks at times within the law enforcement/public safety community. As a Security Manager, I stress daily to my supervisors that the personal information of lower-ranking staff should not be discussed with other lower-ranking officers.

My research topic was Internet Safety and Security-related issues, my 16-year-old niece spends a lot of unsupervised time on the Internet although I have talked to her mom (my sister) about this and bought to her attention to a 14-year-old girl was kidnapped and raped in our hometown that she knew from the Internet. I made her aware of the fact that 31 assaults, and 3 rapes had occurred in our hometown. I encouraged my sister to supervise my niece and decided that it was my moral obligation to inform her and hope she be more vigilant with her daughter.
