1. Behavioural finance is a relatively new field of study in the area of finance. Discuss why you think behavioural finance is useful for our understanding of how individuals and markets behave and what insights it can offer us in addition to traditional financial theory. (25 Marks).
2. The 2015 ING Survey on Financial Behaviour found that financial decision making was harder than expected, with 30% of people saying that deciding about wealth and retirement is difficult. Explain why people find making financial decisions difficult and outline the problems that this can cause. (25 Marks).
3. Under the Pensions Act 2008, the UK government introduced automatic enrolment for employees in order to increase retirement savings. Discuss whether you think this was a good policy intervention and whether there are any alternative interventions that would be useful to increase retirement savings. (25 Marks).
4. In your opinion what is the most significant behavioural problem facing households when making financial decisions? You should describe the issue and the implications this has for individuals, and also any potential solutions that are available. (25 Marks).
