ASSESSMENT BRIEF AND CRITERIA
BCPM00054: The Management of Innovation in Construction Firms and Projects
Assessment Brief
Please select an existing construction firm or project/megaproject (UK or worldwide). Using the selected case study example, apply one or more theoretical concepts (e.g., innovation process, innovation capabilities, innovation culture, open innovation, innovation champions, innovation manager professionalism) that you have learnt in the module. Please also make a recommendation for an innovation strategy for the selected construction firm or project/megaproject should adopt, as well as the justification for the recommendation. Your coursework is to be conceptually informed and detailed to the extent that the innovation management will understand how and why to implement a recommended innovation strategy.
You are required to submit a fully referenced coursework of 3,000 words (excluding diagrams, figures and appendices). This requires you to critically review a significant range of academic literature, construction industry reports, and to present an analysis and logical arguments.
Please also make use of the Moodle Forum for questions and discussions.
You are encouraged to start work on this assignment as soon as possible to avoid resource problems (yours!) later, during the programme of study.
Format structure
Please create your own title for the essay.
Please use Harvard Referencing style. Examples of the Harvard referencing system are included in your Course Notes and were discussed in the research methods sessions.
