I believe integrating corporate governance and business ethics education into the business curriculum of a school is very important. Corporate governance is a vital way to ensure business ethics and is vital for success in the modern world (Q, 2021). Without structure created through corporate governance, ethics, and trust, there is no foundation to building a successful business and/or successful career (Q, 2021). I believe business schools have a duty to instill such values in their student (Q, 2021). As professionals, we face many challenges and decision which may be considered unethical if not handled properly. A business school teaching these courses serves as foundation from which professionals can build upon in the real world and their practical experience and corporate governance and ethics are vital aspects of the corporate/business world. Schools are also in the position to research thoroughly into these topics and share their findings related to these aspects of business, or lack thereof (Q, 2021). Professors can utilize case studies, scenarios, research, projects, and guest speakers to bring research and real life experiences students can learn from. This will help prepare us professionally on how to handle such situations and dilemmas in the future, how to setup an effective corporate governance program, how to implement and enforce it, etc. I have learned a great deal from different scenarios, case studies, readings, and from the perspective of my professor and peers throughout this course. I can take that knowledge and apply it in my professional life, to my practical experience.

Is an organizations governing board necessary in managerial strategy and planning? Explain

The role of an organizations governing board varies across organizations. However, as Eisenstein (2019) refers too it has become the norm for governing boards of directors to be the responsible source when it comes to strategic planning, therefore making them quite essential. In other words, with the use of strategic planning for the near and distant future, the governing board is responsible for setting the direction in which the company is to follow over the foreseeable future. Therefore, it is solely the responsibility of the governing board Once a strategic plan is in place and implemented by management, management may approach the board in how best to achieve that strategic plan, which may include a varying strategic project or plan. It is than the responsibility of the governing board to approve, reject, or offer feedback to management in regards to their input (Eisenstein, 2019). Thus, the governing board has a tremendous role when it comes to strategic management and planning, therefore considering them a necessity.
