Abstract
Vehicular Adhoc Networks (VANET) are expected to influence and improve road safety as well as driving conditions and thus are attracting much attention. Most if not all VANETs rely on accurate location information between vehicles. This makes use of moving vehicles as nodes in a network for creating a network and ensures no breaking of the routing path before transmission. The most significant concern of VANETs is the security of the network. VANETs comprises of two main technologies WiMAX and Wi-Fi. For this work we have a thorough analysis on VANTE where Wi-Fi is used for vehicle to vehicle (V2V) interaction. Complete analysis of the encryption and decryption time for Wi-Fi has been discussed. A comparative study with popular security systems is also provided.
