Introduction
Information governance relates to the development of rules and regulations pertaining to the security of information; it is concerned with the legal compliance that needs to be met for operational transparency and governance policies and procedures (Tallon, Ramirez & Short, 2013). Moreover, privacy policy is concerned with the statement of a company that contains the way the company collects, shares and protects customers personal information which is being gathered by the interactions that are made through the customers website experience (Bennett, Raab, 2017) . the assignment is based upon the research question that explains the privacy policies pertaining to the e-commerce stores.

Research Question
The research question is the privacy policies that are related to e-commerce store and how the various companies uphold their privacy policies.

Background
Privacy policy is regarded as the legal agreement that entails the ways a company protects the confidential information of the customers and the way the information is managed efficiently. It has the main objective of safeguarding the personal consumer information. Nowadays, more and more companies are improving their services through better privacy policies. The ecommerce websites usually collects the names, email addresses and also payment details which are required to protected and controlled through the rules and privacy policies. Also, there is huge importance of privacy policy for an e-commerce company as the business cannot move ahead without collecting customer data. Thus, companies strive for a well-written privacy policy that provides protection from unnecessary risks and also the conflicts that can arise due to the interference into the personal data of the customers.

Further, Amazon has a well-defined privacy policy for the protection of the rights of the customers and the company gives due importance to the trust of customers. The company has a data controller Media EU SARL that stores and controls the confidential information of the customers (Amazon, 2019). Amazon collects the personal information, e-mail communications and the communications that are being done by the customers on the companys customer support service. Also, the company takes the consent of the customers through privacy notice that takes the permission to collect, manage and transfer the information of the customers.

Also, Nykaa as a renowned fashion company has privacy policy that safeguards the sensitive information of customers and has a policy that the company does not share or sell the information to the third party. It collects the personal information such as name, addresses, communication chats to take a record of the customers which they can later use for the analyzing the expectations of the customers, knowing about shopping experiences and also tracks the activities on the website through cookies which requires acceptance by the client (Nykaa, 2018).

Conclusion
Conclusively, it can be observed that privacy policy is crucial for every company as it helps in maintaining transparency and trust of the customers. Also, it helps in fulfilling the legal obligation that a company should fulfill to use, modify and share the information in an effective way. Similarly, Amazon and Nykaa have different privacy policies that helps them in keeping the data of the customers safely.
