Papers can talk directly about a mathematical topic related to symmetry, they can be a personal reflection, and an expository talk relating symmetry to something in history, design, culture&#8230;you name it! Above all, make sure your writing is focused and specific. However symmetry appears in your paper, write about it with as much precision as you can.<br />
A good paper includes pictures and examples to support your writing, as well as outside references. Good papers are readable (avoid typos and grammatical mistakes).<br />
Avoid a paper that is a simple laundry list of symmetric objects in your life. Write about something you find interesting or that you care about.<br />
I will grade you paper on a 0-5 point scale. Papers that receive a 5 are exceptional. Note that the grade on your short papers represents a pretty hefty chunk of your overall grade (40%). In the gradebook these assignments are not weighted as they will be when I compute your grade. Blowing off your papers is a really bad idea! Treat this assignment with the same seriousness that you would a test.<br />
Hints: Symmetry is that one shape is exactly like the other shape when it is moved, rotated, or flipped.<br />
In the real life, we always use symmetry to solve different kinds of problems.<br />
Also, symmetry brings us a lot of convenience to solve mathematical problems, especially in geometry.</p>

Many of the advantages of parametric equations become obvious when applied to solving real-world problems.<br />
Although rectangular equations in x and y give an overall picture of an object&#8217;s path, they do not reveal the position of an object at a specific time. This is where your skills in Analytical Trigonometry come in.<br />
A common application of parametric equations is solving problems involving projectile motion.<br />
If an object is thrown with a velocity of v feet per second at an angle of Î¸ with the horizontal, then its flight can be modeled by,<br />
x = (v cos Î¸ ) t  and y = v (sin Î¸ ) t &#8211; 16 t^2 + h<br />
where t is in seconds and h is the object&#8217;s initial height in feet above the ground.<br />
x is the horizontal position and y is the vertical position, and &#8211; 16 t^2 represents gravity pulling on the object.<br />
Depending on the units involved in the problem, use g = 32 ft/ s^2 or g 9.8 m/ s^2.<br />
