CSIA 485: Practical Applications in Cybersecurity Management & Policy Project #3: Presentation for Board of Directors
Your Task:
Padgett-Beale’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) has tasked you to continue supporting the Merger & Acquisition team’s efforts to bring Island Banking Services’ security program into compliance with U.S. laws and regulations. The M&A team has provisionally accepted the draft cybersecurity strategy and draft implementation plan which you prepared previously. The M&A team has now requested that you contribute a set of summary slides for the M&A team’s Decision Briefing (presentation) to the Padgett-Beale Board of Directors. This briefing is one of the final steps in obtaining approval for the M&A team’s plan for integrating the newly purchased company – Island Banking Services – into Padgett-Beale as Padgett-Beale, Inc Financial Services (PBI-FS).

Before you begin developing your presentation, review your work products from Projects 1 & 2. As you do so, identify the most likely or most significant barriers to success (factors which increase the risk of failure). These can include barriers arising from external factors as well as issues arising from internal company sources. Consider culture and organizational conflict as well as legal and regulatory issues. For each factor, identify a countermeasure or compensatory action which the company could take to reduce the risk of failure. Select the five most significant barriers to success from your analysis. You will include these in your presentation slides.

Develop Your Presentation:
Using your prior work (Projects 1 & 2), develop a high-level summary presentation of your Cybersecurity Strategy and the Implementation Plan. You will need between 20-30 slides to fully address the requirements listed below; this slide count includes the slides for titles, section titles, and references. Remember to include speaker notes for the agenda slide, section title slides, and content slides. Your notes should be at least 20 words / one paragraph but no longer than 150 words / 3 paragraphs per slide.

Your presentation must include the following:

· Title Slide with title, your name, the date, and this course

· Agenda Slide

· Overview of the M&A effort (multiple slides – use the assignment overviews / background sections to put together a summary that answers: who, what, where, why, how)

· Section Title Slide: Cybersecurity Strategy

· Content Slides: provide a summary of your proposed Cybersecurity Strategy (Project 1)

· Section Title Slide: Cybersecurity Implementation Plan

· Content Slides: provide a summary of your proposed Cybersecurity Implementation Plan

· Section Title Slide: Barriers to Success

· Content Slides: five separate slides – one for each factor (identify each barrier to success and provide a recommended countermeasure or compensating action that the company could implement to reduce the risk of failure). This section will expand upon your “barriers to success” as discussed in Project #2.

· Section Title Slide: Summary & Recommendations

· Content Slide: present a recommendation that the strategy & implementation plan be approved by the Board of Directors for adoption and implementation by the company. Include 5 major business benefits of adoption and implementation. This may be new content (not previously included in projects 1 & 2).

· Section Title Slide: References

· Content Slides(s) that include reference list entries for your resources. Do not cite your own work for Projects 1 & 2.

Putting It All Together
MS Power Point .pptx format is the preferred delivery format; this application can be accessed via the Web or downloaded from UMGC under the university’s enterprise license for student use of Office 365. For more information see: https://www.umgc.edu/help/help-article-base.html?knowledgeArticleId=kA00W000000sZpeSAE&articleType=FAQ_IT__kav

If you are unable to use Power Point, you may use another presentation application to create your slides and speaker notes. After you have done so, print your presentation slides to PDF and deliver the assignment as a PDF document. If you deliver as PDF, you must make sure that your speaker notes are visible and accompany each slide.

Additional Information
1. Consult the grading rubric for specific content and formatting requirements for this assignment.

2. Your presentation should be professional in appearance with consistent use of fonts, font sizes, margins, etc.

3. You must include a title slide with the assignment title, your name, and the due date. Your reference list must be on a separate slide at the end of your file.

4. You are expected to write grammatically correct English in every assignment that you submit for grading. Do not turn in any work without (a) using spell check, (b) using grammar check, (c) verifying that your punctuation is correct and (d) reviewing your work for correct word usage and correctly structured sentences and paragraphs.

5. You are expected to credit your sources using in-text citations and reference list entries. Both your citations and your reference list entries must follow a consistent citation style (APA, MLA, etc.). To reduce visual clutter, you may put citations for sources into footnotes at the bottom of your slides (instead of putting citations at the ends of bullet points).

Module 2 – SLP Architecting the IT Governance Plan

As a consultant to, or manager of, an IT unit within your selected organization, you must be keenly aware of challenges facing your selected organization. This assignment asks you to identify, intellectually discuss, and broadly report on at least two of the most important (in your view) strategic issues faced by your selected organization. In particular, note how these issues have influenced the organization you are considering. Why has the consideration of them positively affected that organization? Conversely, what have been the negative effects on the organization because of not considering them? Make sure you relate the issues and concerns you discuss to IT Governance. Additionally, if failure to properly consider an IT Governance issue has caused the organization problems, how would you alter the IT Strategy? Alternately, if the Governance Issues have aided the organization, what more might you recommend doing? Please provide some detail/examples as you write this paper.

Your paper’s title might be: Considering the Strategic Issues: Their Impact on IT Governance.

SLP Assignment Expectations

Upload your 4- to 5-page paper to the SLP 2 Dropbox once it is completed.

Follow the number of pages required in the assignment excluding cover page and references. Each page should have about 300 words.

Your assignment will be graded according to the MSITM SLP Grading Rubric.

Module 2 – Case Architecting the IT Governance Plan

Assignment Overview

The Capstone course is a summary of your learning from all previous MSITM coursework. Thus, it has some suggested recent materials in IT governance along with writing/Capstone Case guides, or other materials directly provided by your professor. Your course resources are the readings, background information, and other learning from your overall program. In addition, you are free to integrate such relevant information as you may additionally find through your own preparation. The readings from core courses in MSITM are under Optional Reading. A limited number of background readings will also be made available within this course for your review as interested.

Case Assignment

For this module, you will continue your description and assessment of your chosen organization. Please address the following important descriptive and analytic questions, providing enough information to assure clarity:

· Based on the background readings and your own research, elaborate on unique principles that organizations can use to foster success through their IT Governance Plan.

· Address a plan the organization might use to foster organizational improvement and positively leverage its future in the IT Governance Plan. Be specific with your ideas and examples.

Your focus must be principally on IT/ITM-related elements of your topic organization as you review/integrate GST principles and concerns into your IT Governance Plan.

Assignment Expectations

In all of this, you will need to reflect on your description and analysis (and perhaps adjust it accordingly) to ensure that you are able to integrate insight and learning from previous classes (and other sources as fits the circumstances). This means you must use at least five contiguous academically sound citations and later full references. Use enough concurrent discussion so that the purpose of each citation is apparent to the reader. This paper is incomplete without five academically sound references. Relevant magazine articles from such sources as CIO are acceptable. Make sure to use illustrations and examples from your topic organization.

You will be assessed on the appropriateness and completeness of the detail you provide regarding your selected organization, your use of citations and references as noted above, and your intellectual insight into topically important issues. You will also be assessed on how well you adhere to the specific Capstone Case Guidelines provided to you.

This is a draft, so if you need to make educated guesses at this stage, that is fine for now. Your paper should be at least four, if not more, double-spaced pages when finished. The issue in these case papers is not brevity; rather it is insight and completeness in dealing with the topic(s).

Note that you are expected to use correct grammar, spelling, and English vocabulary. Check your paper for missing or inappropriately used words. If in doubt, check the dictionary and not ‘spell check.’ Consider that this paper, and all others, will be reviewed by the CIO and/or your commanding officer. In this light, it is strongly suggested that you ask a trusted colleague to review and edit each of your papers. Papers which do not meet these guidelines will be returned to you.

Post your paper once it is completed.

Executive Summary

The present report outlines the requirements and recommendations for the implementation of an effective Help desk solutions for the Australian Institute of Business and Technology (AIBT) across its nationwide campuses. The Australian Institute of Business and Technology (AIBT) has campuses in Sydney, Brisbane, and Hobart and, as a result, requires a robust system to satisfy the diverse needs of its staff and students.

The essential features and capabilities of the proposed Helpdesk Solution will be outlined. These include such issues to do with multi-channel support, ticketing systems, remote assistance, knowledge base, asset management, and reporting tools among others. The features are essential to streamline the reporting of ICT-related issues that occur and are subsequently reported in real-time reducing the potential downtime in the campuses and increasing their overall operational efficiency.

Introduction

The Australian Institute of Business and Technology (AIBT) is a nationwide institution serving a diverse group of learners and staff. Conscious of the increased reliance on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in academic and administrative functionalities, this calls for a system in place to address any ICT-related issues that come in the way of the system users. To address such issues efficiently and promptly, Help Desk solutions come on board. This proposed solution hub will serve as a centralized command centre to serve the staff and students in all of the AIBT campuses of Sydney, Brisbane, and Hobart. As such, it will provide them with real-time help on ICT-related issues in all their departments and campuses.

The report will expound on the general features and capabilities of the proposed ICT solution, pinpointing the key functionalities such as multi-channel support, ticketing system, remote assistance, knowledge base, asset management, and reporting tools. These features are essential for streamlining the process of issue resolution and optimizing resource utilization within the ICT support framework.

General Features and Capabilities of the ICT Solution

Features

The proposed ICT solution for AIBT campuses nationwide has diverse features and capabilities. These are all designed for a prompt and effective reporting process and handling of ICT-related issues while optimizing operational efficiency. Below are the key features and capabilities:

Multi-channel Support: The ICT solution will provide support by application of a range of communication channels. These include phone, email, chat, and a self-service portal. These are a diverse range of reporting mechanisms that ensure that the staff and students can report issues using their preferred method, enhancing accessibility and convenience.

Ticketing System: To ensure the centralized ticketing system is fair for all and that it serves staff and students according to the time reported, it will be implemented so that it can log, track, and manage support requests efficiently. For every issue reported, a unique ticket will be assigned to whoever has reported the issue which allows for a systemic handling and monitoring of the resolution process to the issue reported.

Remote Assistance: Several remote assistance capabilities will be incorporated into the ICT solution so that support staff can be able to not only troubleshoot but also resolve issues in real-time through remote ways. By allowing for quick resolution of problems, downtime is highly reduced and, as such, reduces the need for in-person intervention on the system. Knowledge Base: In a bid to provide resources necessary for the quick resolution of common issues that may come in the course of the intervention, a comprehensive knowledge guide will be established. It will contain FAQs, troubleshooting guides, and solutions to common problems. This resource allows the users to resolve minor issues and reduces long waiting times, reducing overreliance on support staff and increasing efficiency.

Asset Management: One of the unique and significant features of the ICT solution is the asset management capability, where it will allow tracking and management of hardware and software inventory in all of the AIBT campuses. This provides for proper and efficient utilization of the organizations resources.

Reporting and Analytics: The solution employs Robust reporting tools and analytics. These allow for tracking of insights, trends, and resource utilization, as well as identifying areas that need improvement. As a result, there will be data-informed decision-making as well as improvement over time in the ICT support services.

User Notifications: There will be timely notifications to users with concerns about the status of their reported issues. Any potential delays or time till the issue is resolved will be updated for the user, allowing transparency so that they keep informed throughout the process.

Monthly Reports: To keep the management of AIBT up to date with the support activities, there will be monthly reports generated showing the total number of tickets handled, resolution times, and average resolution time, among other statistics. These will help in the monitoring of the service performance as well as the identification of potential areas for improvement.

The capabilities

1. Scalability: The ICT solution can accommodate the growing and diverse needs of the AIBT campuses, both for staff and learners. It can handle increasing user requests without compromising on quality and performance

2. Customization: There are options for customization to tailor the helpdesk solutions to the AIBT requirements. This allows for the adaptation of workflows, ticket categories as well as metrics reporting to align them with the needs of the organization

3.Integration: The helpdesk solution can easily be integrated into the existing system. This allows for a higher level of interoperability with the existing ICT infrastructure of AIBT.

4. Security: The ICT solution has a higher level of security and safe quad of sensitive data and ensures compliance with the existing data control and privacy regulation protocols. There is a robust authentication mechanism in place, data encryption and regular security audits.

5. Automation: To deal with repetitive tasks and workflows, automation capability has been fixed to reduce the need for manual support response and shorten response time.

6. User Experience: The user experience is one of the priorities for this solution in that there is an intuitive interface, easy navigation, and responsive support services. As a result, staff and students will be able to access support resources in a quick and efficient manner leading to higher satisfaction levels.

7. Training and Support: Training and support allow users to benefit the most from the ICT solution. This will help in faster issue resolution and even offer the users the capability for self-service support.

8. Continuous Improvement: Using the insights and the feedback from users, it is important to monitor metrics and implement enhancements based on the evolving needs and emerging technologies. The same allows for ICT support services that are responsive and adaptive to changing requirements.

Conclusion

In conclusion, implementing the Help Desk solutions for all the nationwide campuses of AIBT will allow for a seamless ICT support services across the areas of Sydney, Brisbane, and Hobart campuses. The ICT solution has comprehensive features and capabilities that will help in solving a diverse base of problems reported by the staff and students. These features, which include multi-channel support, ticketing system, remote assistance, knowledge base, asset management, and reporting tools, offer efficient management of ICT-related issues and offer support to learners and students but also allow them to resolve some of the issues on their own as a result offering support in real-time reducing downtime as well as overreliance on manual interventions. In overall, the Help Desk solution is essential in enhancing of operational efficiency, minimizing downtime and operation disruptions as well as improvement of the Satisfaction levels of the user at AIBT. Adopting the solution will allow for the optimization of resource utilization, strengthening the ICT infrastructure, and meeting the academic and administrative needs of the users.

Recommendations

Conscious of the analysis in this report, AIBT management should adopt the following. First, it should implement ICT solutions to boost operational efficiency and improve ICT support across all its campuses. They should carry out training and education initiatives so that their staff and learners can utilize the features of the ICT related issues effectively. In particular, it should be able to independently solve the minor issues independently. In addition, there is a need for regular monitoring and evaluation to identify areas for improvement. As a result, the insights gained should guide continuous improvements. Further, adequate resources must and should be allocated to technology infrastructure to support the implementation of the ICT solution. AIBT should also collaborate with ICT service providers maintaining open communication and collaboration.

Part 2: Configure IPv6 Addresses Manually

Part 3: Verify End-to-End Connectivity

Background / Scenario
In this lab, you will configure hosts and device interfaces with IPv6 addresses. You will issue show commands to view IPv6 unicast addresses. You will also verify end-to-end connectivity using ping and traceroute commands.

Note: The routers used with CCNA hands-on labs are Cisco 4221 with Cisco IOS XE Release 16.9.4 (universalk9 image). The switches used in the labs are Cisco Catalyst 2960s with Cisco IOS Release 15.2(2) (lanbasek9 image). Other routers, switches, and Cisco IOS versions can be used. Depending on the model and Cisco IOS version, the commands available and the output produced might vary from what is shown in the labs. Refer to the Router Interface Summary Table at the end of the lab for the correct interface identifiers.

Note: Make sure that the routers and switches have been erased and have no startup configurations. If you are unsure, contact your instructor.

Note: The default 2960 Switch Database Manager (SDM) template does not support IPv6. It may be necessary to issue the command sdm prefer dual-ipv4-and-ipv6 default to enable IPv6 addressing before applying an IPv6 address to the VLAN 1 SVI.

Note: The default bias template used by the Switch Database Manager (SDM) does not provide IPv6 address capabilities. Verify that SDM is using either the dual-ipv4-and-ipv6 template or the lanbase-routing template. The new template will be used after reboot.

S1# show sdm prefer

Follow these steps to assign the dual-ipv4-and-ipv6 template as the default SDM template:

S1# configure terminal

S1(config)# sdm prefer dual-ipv4-and-ipv6 default

S1(config)# end

S1# reload

Required Resources
1 Router (Cisco 4221 with Cisco IOS XE Release 16.9.4 universal image or comparable)

1 Switch (Cisco 2960 with Cisco IOS Release 15.2(2) lanbasek9 image or comparable)

2 PCs (Windows with terminal emulation program, such as Tera Term)

Console cables to configure the Cisco IOS devices via the console ports

Ethernet cables as shown in the topology

Note: The Gigabit Ethernet interfaces on Cisco 4221 routers are autosensing and an Ethernet straight-through cable may be used between the router and PC-B. If using another model Cisco router, it may be necessary to use an Ethernet crossover cable.

Instructions
Cable the Network and Configure Basic Router and Switch Settings
After cabling the network, initializing and reloading the router and switch, complete the following:

Configure the router.
Assign the hostname and configure basic device settings.

Configure the switch.
Assign the hostname and configure basic device settings.

Configure IPv6 Addresses Manually
Assign the IPv6 addresses to Ethernet interfaces on R1.
Assign the IPv6 global unicast addresses, listed in the Addressing Table, to both Ethernet interfaces on R1.

Open configuration window

Verify that the correct IPv6 unicast address is assigned to each interface.

Note: The link-local address (fe80::) displayed is based on EUI-64 addressing, which automatically uses the interface Media Access Control (MAC) address to create a 128-bit IPv6 link-local address.

To get the link-local address to match the global unicast address on the interface, manually enter the link-local addresses on each of the Ethernet interfaces on R1.

Note: Each router interface belongs to a separate network. Packets with a link-local address never leave the local network; therefore, you can use the same link-local address on both interfaces.

Use a command of your choice to verify that the link-local address has been changed to fe80::1.

Close a configuration window

Question:
Which two multicast groups have been assigned to interface G0/0/0?

Type your answers here.

Enable IPv6 routing on R1.
On a PC-B command prompt, enter the ipconfig command to examine IPv6 address information assigned to the PC interface.

Question:
Has an IPv6 unicast address been assigned to the network interface card (NIC) on PC-B?

Type your answers here.

Enable IPv6 routing on R1 using the IPv6 unicast-routing command.

Open configuration window

Use a command to verify the new multicast group are assigned to interface G0/0/0. Notice that the all-router multicast group (FF02::2) now appears for interface G0/0/0.

Note: This will allow the PCs to obtain their IP address and default gateway information automatically using Stateless Address Autoconfiguration (SLAAC).

Now that R1 is part of the all-router multicast group ff02::2, re-issue the ipconfig command on PC-B and examine the IPv6 address information.

Question:
Why did PC-B receive the Global Routing Prefix and Subnet ID that you configured on R1?

Type your answers here.

Assign IPv6 addresses to the management interface (SVI) on S1.
Assign the IPv6 address for S1. Also assign a link-local address for this interface.

Use a command of your choice to verify that the IPv6 addresses are properly assigned to the management interface.

Close a configuration window

Assign static IPv6 addresses to the PCs.
Open the Ethernet Properties window on for each PC and assign IPv6 addressing.

Verify both PCs have the correct IPv6 address information. Each PC should have two Global IPv6 addresses: one static and one SLACC

Verify End-to-End Connectivity
From PC-A, ping fe80::1. This is the link-local address assigned to G0/0/1 on R1.

Ping the S1 management interface from PC-A.

Use the tracert command on PC-A to verify that you have end-to-end connectivity to PC-B.

From PC-B, ping PC-A.

From PC-B, ping the link-local address for G0/0/0 on R1.

Note: If end-to-end connectivity is not established, troubleshoot your IPv6 address assignments to verify that you entered the addresses correctly on all devices.

Reflection Questions
Why can the same link-local address, fe80::1, be assigned to both Ethernet interfaces on R1?

Type your answers here.

What is the Subnet ID of the IPv6 unicast address 2001:db8:acad::aaaa:1234/64?

Type your answers here.
